Next week we'll be demoing + reacting to AI in practice.

We'll have a few presenters give an informal talk about how they're using AI. Each will be followed by Q&A / discussion.

Presenters will cover whatever they want from this list:

• Applications of AI in local government: how are you now applying / do you plan to apply AI to improve services?
• What data + privileges do you give to an LLM (and what's don't you)?
• How do you mitigate risk?
• Lessons learned : what’s worked, what hasn’t, what’s been surprising
• What do you envision next?

Our March meeting is a "coffee chat", where respondents self-select into breakout rooms based on what topic they want to discuss. Our theme is the lifecycle stages of a project.

Breakout rooms will be for:

• Intake process
• Ongoing work (e.g., tracking it on a Kanban board)
• Evaluate outcomes
• Telling the story

Our first meeting of 2026 was on January 14th. We had a show-and-tell meeting featuring demos of three tools/products mentioned at our November meeting.

CAE has existed for a few years on Slack and (barely) LinkedIn. Let's try a website for a more public, stable, open presence! I'd love to hear ideas from members about how to use this space.
